Marae across Aotearoa are turning to solar energy as a sustainable solution to rising power costs and regional electricity shortages. To support our own move toward energy independence and resilience, we’re raising funds for a grid-tied and fully off-grid solar system tailored for our marae.

This upgrade will help us generate enough power to run our wharekai, wharenui, and ablution blocks, ensuring our marae remains a welcoming and functional space for all who gather here - now and into the future.

We live in a digital world — but our connection to each other remains at the heart of everything we do. To ensure our marae continues to thrive and serve all generations, we’re investing in digital upgrades that allow us to reach whānau wherever they are.

This includes:

• Improving internet and technology infrastructure on the marae

• Creating online spaces for hui, livestreams, and cultural learning

• Building digital archives to preserve and share our stories, whakapapa, and history

• Enabling remote access for kaumātua and whānau abroad to stay involved in kaupapa
